Arsene Wenger confirms double Arsenal injury boost ahead of Stoke clash – Arsenal


Mertesacker has missed the Gunners last two games while Koscielny returned to play against Newcastle but reportedly aggravated the injury on international duty.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that both Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker are in training ahead of Arsenals game against Stoke on Saturday.

The defensive duo have both been struggling with injuries recently, with Mertesacker being troubled by illness and Koscielny a back problem.

We should have the same squad available. But nobody came back injured. Wenger has denied those reports, however, confirming that the Frenchman and his defensive partner should be ready for Saturdays clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Mertesacker is back in training so we have to decide how fit he is for Saturday. Koscielny is OK.

It is slower than expected because I expected him to be back after the international break.

He had a little set-back but I cannot tell you much more.

Wenger has revealed concerns, however, about Jack Wilsheres recovery.

All the players that have been away have come back in good shape, he said
